UV LEDS * VIS LEDS

UV LED Light Sources provide exceptional coupling efficiency between UV and VIS LEDs and single optical fibers. The result is a powerful source of light for fluorescence, spectroscopy or general fiber illumination applications.

Sandhouse UV LED light source

Innovative electronics drive the LEDs with a stable high current and allows them to be run at even higher peak currents when operated in the external triggered mode. The user can select continuous, externally triggered or OFF from a switch on the front. A separate switch allows you to adjust the power level. All functions can also be accessed through a 15 pin interface connector. An optional USB controller can be used to customize the settings including the drive current, pulse width and pulse frequency.  LLS units come as single LED sources as shown above, and also 4 channel and 8 channel units.

UV LEDS are available at nearly every 5nm increment in wavelength from 250nm to 360nm and high power LEDS at selected wavelengths from 365 to 637nm.

  • All LED modules will work in the LLS single channel source or the MCLS 4 channel source. Users can buy any wavelength LED module to change the wavelength of their system. Onboard logic on the MLA assembly circuit card sets the proper voltage and current in the power supply
  • 2 uW - 1.5 mW power coupled into a single 600 micron fiber in CW mode. The UV LEDS (360 nm and lower) are internally coupled to a 600 um fiber, so any other size used will result in a loss of energy. The high power LEDS (365nm and higher) will work with any size fiber. Larger diamters and larger na fibers will collect lore power from those LEDS.
  • 30 mA max drive current CW for the UV LEDS 
  • 200 mA max drive current pulsed mode
  • 1% max duty cycle in pulsed mode

Multi-LED Sources & Single Source Modules

Multiple LED light sources provide an easy way to deliver multiple wavelengths of light sequentially, or combined for excitation/emission mapping in fluorescence, ultra low stray light absorbance measurements and other applications. The built in USB controller provides for high power low duty cycle pulsing, external triggering and outgoing trigger signals, duty cycle and power level and sequence in an easy to use software application. The unit comes with a user inerface program and a software developers kit. The software provides a graphical representation of the timing patterns, duty cycles, power levels. status (on/off) and the type of LED in each channel.
